Hubs & Co are a small, independent and innovative service offering bespoke therapeutic solutions for children and families in need of support and sustainable change. Role Summary

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Assessment and Formulation: Carry out initial assessments with families and children, looking at factors contributing to the difficulties they face. With support, develop an initial formulation to explain these difficulties, leading to clear recommendations for therapeutic work.

  • Therapeutic Support: Offer direct and indirect therapeutic support to parents/carers and young people. This work will be guided by clinical supervision and team discussion.

  • Professional Networking: Take part in professional network meetings to share formulations with colleagues, contribute to healthy discussion around relevant factors, and propose ways to move forward.

  • Systemic Advice: Offer advice that may be systemic in nature, such as guidance around the dynamics contributing to the difficulties seen.

  • Supervision and Training: Participate in relevant induction and on-going training, 1:1 case supervision and weekly group team discussions.

  • Case Management: Be responsible for managing your caseload and accurate note-taking.

  • Safeguarding: Follow all safeguarding policies and procedures.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Qualifications & Skills (Essential / Desirable )

Minimum of a degree in psychology or therapy, or a recognised social work qualification/registered with Social Work England. Essential

Minimum 5 years relevant experience- (social work, therapeutic services, hospitals/ inpatient settings), working with children/ families/ individuals with high level or complex needs. Essential

An ability to work collaboratively with parents and children to address emotional and behavioural difficulties, including supporting parents/ carers to overcome barriers to engagement. Essential

Dedicated to problem solving and finding solutions to complex problems. Essential

Knowledge of systemic practice and reflective supervision. An understanding of the importance of context and the wider system when understanding young people and their families/ support networks. Essential

An ability to work across the system, working collaboratively with other professionals and in being able to mediate and resolve issues to the benefit of the family/ child. Essential

Excellent team work skills. A desire to be part of a team, working together to share ideas, offer alternative perspectives and follow guidance when necessary. Essential

Ensuring safety of children and others is a priority. An ability to recognise abuse and risk and to respond appropriately to keep children /individuals safe. Essential
